DETROIT CASINO PARTNERSHIP

Detroit Casino Partnership (DCP) is a team of forward thinking individuals and corporations who have come together to promote the development of a fourth, privately-held gaming and entertainment establishment and hotel in downtown Detroit.

DCP believes providing a more nationally competitive gaming and entertainment product, in conjunction with enhancing local events, will create a more competitive tourism environment and attract customers and visitors from  great distances as well as the local area.  The development of an additional casino will offer more jobs for local residents, business opportunities for suppliers and vendors, and investment opportunities for local ownership.  Additionally, another Detroit casino will create a new source of tax revenue for the City of Detroit, Wayne County, the State of Michigan.

While tourism is Michigan’s number two industry, Detroit has yet to reach its full potential as an urban destination center.  Taking maximum advantage of our international border, river front, seasons, cultural offerings, entertainment heritage, industry, urban flavor, geographical location, and two new air terminals, we believe Detroit is poised for a transformation that will allow us to take our rightful place with Chicago and Toronto as a midwest entertainment hub. We believe Detroit Casino Partnership is just the spark to ignite this transformation.

The CMMJ proposal increases the Gaming tax ALL casinos pay to 23%. That is roughly the same level of increase Mayor Bing requested of the States Legislature. Adding in the tax generated from DCP, and the City of Detroit would get almost 100 Million additional dollars per year.

The City would also benefit from its proportionate share of the millions in additional Statewide Education and Police & Fire funding paid by all casinos.
